Free Bytes: Effing Meteors

Who knew that causing massive intergalactic extinction could be so much fun? Playing the role of a particularly malevolent gust of wind hell bent on crushing civilization with thundering ice balls of death falling from the sky in Effing Hail was wicked and delightful. The sequel, Effing Meteors, ramps up the destruction to a cosmic level to let you destroy planets, battle dinosaurs that shoot lasers from their eyeballs, and defeat the universe in a obliterating spray of meteoric awesomeness. We like that. You should too.

Like its predecessor, Effing Meteors doesn't beat around any bushes. Everything in the galaxy must be destroyed, and you're the invisible force tasked with doing all the dirty work. Rather than firing up ye old death ray or triggering cataclysmic explosions with high-tech nuclear arsenals, you're stuck gathering small meteors flying around the cosmos and combining them to create larger, more destructive meteors to hurl down to the planet surface. Working with and against gravity is challenging, but lobbing flaming balls of doom at just the right spots to slay a variety of dinosaurs, aliens, and bug life is explosively satisfying. You also have to contend with planetary defenses, as some critters fire skyward rockets that can wipe out your hard-crafted meteors.
Ok, so it turns out that destroying the galaxy doesn't take as much effort as you might think, but it's about the savoring the experience, and boy is there a lot to savor when you're blowing the snot out of an alien zoo or playing dodge ball with an angry 500-story T-Rex that fires rockets and shoots laser beams from its eyes. Why stop at annihilating the universe after just one go-around? There's a universe-smashing leaderboard so you can tout your elite galaxy stomping skills and strive to be the best destroyer of worlds possible. Good times.
